Filming Day at the Beach

On Thursday, December 2nd I started filming with my group. Finding days to start the filming process was extremely difficult for my group. I have work on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. So, my group  and I could not film the sunset at the beach on the weekend. Aja has volunteer work on Monday and Wednesday, and work on Friday. Ashley has to go on Tuesday's to Lacrosse practice and works on Wednesday's. With my schedule I could have filmed any day during Monday-Thursday. However, my other team members had the exact opposite schedule from me. On the weekend I only had Saturday and Sunday mornings available. My group and I decided to film the sunset at the beach on Thursday as that was the only night everyone had available. The first scene shot was the over the shoulder shot of me looking out the window to the sunset on the beach. There were some difficulties that came along the way of shooting this scene. One was that Aja had to drive slower than usual and find an opening in the street to  prevent from getting other cars getting in the shot. Once my group arrived at the beach, there was a lot of walking involved in finding an open area where no one would interrupt the filming process. Another person had to step in to film the picnic scene. Like the other scene so far there were some issues with this one too, which include the wind. There weren't really any other big problems that came after this. Then my group and I laid out the chips that were bought and other things that were added from home. The picnic scene was finished after many tries of struggling. The last scene filmed was the one of all the groups members dancing, which no problems occurred in the filming process of that one.

 After all the filming, and editing was done, it was time to start the next step. The entire opening sequence was done. All the scenes were but in order and the music was added. Lastly, the titles were set to appear on the final product. The next part was to find someone to review the video to critique it. A couple of people were asked as I thought it would be a good idea to get multiple people's opinions on it. My partner and I both agreed to interview different people and the take all of their critiques and fix the opening sequence to be great. The first person I asked was my friend Cece. I asked her to first watch the entire opening sequence first and then after go through it slowly to say what she liked and didn't like. The first thing that she said could have used some improvement was the acting. However, this obviously could not be altered as it would need to be re-filmed. Filming is a Wrap!

 On Saturday December 4th filming was finished. Once again there was a lot of difficulties with the schedules so it was hard to find a good day to film. As a group it was decided that filming would take place on Saturday morning. The first couple of scenes that would be filmed were at Aja's house. My group and I chose to film at her house because it was convenient since all of us knew where she lived. The first thing that had to be done was choosing the type of fancy clothing that had to be worn in the beginning. This was difficult since none of the group members had fancy attire. However, the group members and I came to the conclusion to wear black clothing. This would range from black jeans, to a black dresses. The next scene was of the group getting ready in the mirror (for going out to a club). The makeup was more on the dramatic side. Final Day of Filming Blog

  On Thursday,  November  the 30th I finished filming with my partner. This time I just came to school in NIKE shorts, NIKE shoes, and a normal T-shirt because we were only filming my legs as I was running. The filming took place at the track field again. Also, my phone was used to film all the content for this commercial. I acted in all the scenes my partner filmed today. The first scene that was filled was a tracking shot of me running. This scene was really difficult  to film. Since my partner had to follow me with the camera as I was running, the shot was extra hard to shoot. I had to match my speed with hers so that I would stay in frame. This scene was one that was re-filmed the most. The last scene was also really difficult  to film. I don't think this one turned out as well as my partner and I thought it would. However, I think it wrapped up the commercial pretty well .
