Gunshot: Final Task

Here is the final product of the opening sequence for my movie Gunshot. My partner and I worked really hard on it. I hope you enjoy!

Filming Day at the Beach

On Thursday, December 2nd I started filming with my group. Finding days to start the filming process was extremely difficult for my group. I have work on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. So, my group  and I could not film the sunset at the beach on the weekend. Aja has volunteer work on Monday and Wednesday, and work on Friday. Ashley has to go on Tuesday's to Lacrosse practice and works on Wednesday's. With my schedule I could have filmed any day during Monday-Thursday. However, my other team members had the exact opposite schedule from me. On the weekend I only had Saturday and Sunday mornings available. My group and I decided to film the sunset at the beach on Thursday as that was the only night everyone had available. Difficulties in the Production Process

Throughout the long process of filming and editing I come across a lot of hardships. From the start of filming, there were already a lot of difficulties. This included the search for a set to film at. There were many places that my partner and I wanted to film at, however most of them didn't allow it. The first option that was on the table was an abandoned house that was on the beach as this would be the most realistic. This ended up not being a good set because it was not there anymore. Then my friend offered her dads parking garage, but I did not think the scenery matched the story very well. Finally, the Galleria Mall was the final set and permission was granted to film in this place. Also, finding a place for the beginning of the opening sequence was very difficult as filming could not take place at the school I go to. Production Blog: Music

 The next step for this project was to choose the music that would work with my film. This would require a lot of researching. Places like YouTube and Google is the best choice in finding good quality music. At first, I wanted to use a popular artists music as it draws more people in. A lot of research came in to use when I looked up how to use someone's song without getting a copyright strike and this included emailing a letter. However, I then realized that would not be the best choice. This is because I would have to deal with figuring out a way to use someone else's song without getting in trouble. It is very difficult to deal with copyright in this small-time frame. I would have to email the production company which would be very time consuming. As they would probably be very busy dealing with other things it would take a long time to get back to me. This includes all the emails they already have from other people asking to use their music.
