Beginning of the editing process

To start with the editing part of my commercial I gathered all of the scenes that were shot. I then sent them all to my partner so she could start the editing process. I do not know too much about editing. So, I do not think I was much help for this part of the project. However, I did help with some things. One thing I did help out with a lot was reviewing her edits. Another thing I did was pick out which clips should be used for the final commercial with my partner. While my partner was editing I commented on some things that needed a little work. I told her when some scenes needed to be sped up or slowed down. I also let her know when some of the edits she made did not turn out well. If so then it would need to be edited again. After she finished the first try of editing, I went over the commercial that was made so far. I pointed out some things that were a little rough, that needed cleaning up. I also added some suggestions. For example, I commented on things I thought needed to be zoomed in or out and ways to make the commercial less lengthy as it was too long. The commercial was at about 32.7 seconds and I found ways to cut out those last 3 seconds with her.  The last thing I did was think about some things that needed to be done for the second part of editing. This includes stuff like the song that will be used and the type of logo that will pop up at the end of the commercial. Although throughout this part I was not much help with editing, I do think I did well with reviewing/supervising my partners edits. I look forward to the next part of the editing portion to this commercial.
