Putting it all Together
After the filming process had ended, this marked the beginning of the editing process. The editing app that would be used was going to be iMovie. The next thing that had to be done was choosing the best clips for the final product. As a group everyone had to come together to choose the best scenes. All of the clips had to be aligned in the correct sequence order and some effects needed to be added to them. Ashley and Aja worked on editing of the scenes. However, most of it was done by Ashley as she is the most advanced in editing. I am not very talented in editing so I did not partake in much of this part of the project. When all the editing finished I did look over what my groupmates have done to make sure all of the scenes matched the vision Aja and I had. Since it was very difficult to find a deserted area on the beach, Ashley was able to edit some people out. Ashley edited the sunset scene very well, as she cut the audio out, and slowed down and froze the jumping scene at the end. Aja and I thought that it was very well done and aesthetically pleasing. As they were editing the other clips that were gathered, I added some suggestions on how to make the video flow better. I suggested that a 'message received' noise and a 'message sent' noise would be added to the scene where a group member gets a text message about going to the party. There were some problems with this as it interfered with the music being played. So I suggested that the noises made from the phone would be more quiet and faint in the background of the song. Since editing would not be finished in one day Aja and Ashley agreed that they would email each other their parts that they edited. Everyone agreed because this ensured that both of their edits they made were good. Also, this would make sure all of the clips would fit together seamlessly. Lastly, I asked if they could send me the finished product after they finished to add my input in where I think it needs some work.
