Planning Blog: Other Information

Location- We will be filming in a few different locations. At the beginning of the film, we will be shooting outside of a school. It will most likely be at Sunrise Middle School, since we cannot shoot at our own school without permission. We also plan on shooting near a railroad of some sort since they have a creepy feeling. Most prominently, we will be filming at an abandoned location, most likely an abandoned complex near Pompano Beach.

Participants- The main actors will be myself and my partner Sophia. We will also ask some of our friends and family to be extras and to play dead bodies or civilians. Sophia and I will play two high school students who will discover the building with the bodies in it. Filming will also be me and Sophia. We will mostly have to prop up the camera or film each other individually. Editing will mostly be me. Since I am a bit more tech smart, I will do the editing for this final project. The directing will be done by Sophia and me.

Health/Safety- Sophia and I are going to be very safe while we film. We will both have cell phones with access to emergency service phone numbers such as 911, and we can also call a parent if anything goes wrong. For the scene in which Sophia is “shot” we will be using a fake gun and fake blood, and we will ensure that she lands somewhere soft where she cannot hit her face.

Schedule-

03/12/22-03/13/22: We will start and finish the filming for the abandoned house scene.

03/15/22-03/16/22: Filming will begin with the school campus scene.

03/17/22-03/17/22: Filming will come to an end as we pick out our favorite takes.

03/21/22-03/25/22: Editing the blogs into the opening sequence. We will lay out all the scenes from the film in order to piece it together.

Backup Plan- For the locations, if we are unable to film outside of Sunrise Middle or our high school, we can film at a local college campus such as the University of Miami. That is the school that Sophia’s brother attends so we will have easy access to the campus. If we cannot access the building for any reason, we can also film in the parking garage at the Galleria Mall. If Sophia and I have difficulty during filming, since we only have the two of us, I also have a tripod stand that we can prop our phone up on. For the health and safety matters, I carry a first-aid kit that is readily available in my car with bandages and ointments if we are injured.
