Filming at University of Miami

After school on Wednesday my partner and I went to Miami to film the first part of the film. The first part of filming was the campus. Sunrise middle school did not give us permission to film there. Therefore, the filming had to take place on a university campus. I asked my brother to get permission for me to go film on campus. He talked to people directly from the university of Miami and they allowed me to film there as long as I was not disturbing to other people. After school my dad drove us to Miami, which took 90 minutes to get there. Once I arrived the filming would start after I find a good location. My brother showed my partner and I around the campus so I could get a good idea of where the best location would be to film. The location needed to have a scenic background that was not to populated. We walked around the campus for about 30 minutes until the perfect spot was found. It was right in front of Cobb fountain and next to the part of the campus for music majors. A mutual friend, Ashley, helped with the filming. First my partner and I reviewed the script and the camera angles. The part that was being filmed was when Aja and I were talking about how I was worried about my friend Ashley. This led to the conversation of us searching for her. This was a pretty short scene as only 7 lines were spoken. After this scene was shot, I walked across the fate bridge to the school of architecture. They allowed me to go into the building to film. I filmed the view from inside looking out towards the Cobb fountain.

 After all the filming, and editing was done, it was time to start the next step. The entire opening sequence was done. All the scenes were but in order and the music was added. Lastly, the titles were set to appear on the final product. The next part was to find someone to review the video to critique it. A couple of people were asked as I thought it would be a good idea to get multiple people's opinions on it. My partner and I both agreed to interview different people and the take all of their critiques and fix the opening sequence to be great. The first person I asked was my friend Cece. I asked her to first watch the entire opening sequence first and then after go through it slowly to say what she liked and didn't like. The first thing that she said could have used some improvement was the acting. However, this obviously could not be altered as it would need to be re-filmed. Filming is a Wrap!

 On Saturday December 4th filming was finished. Once again there was a lot of difficulties with the schedules so it was hard to find a good day to film. As a group it was decided that filming would take place on Saturday morning. The first couple of scenes that would be filmed were at Aja's house. My group and I chose to film at her house because it was convenient since all of us knew where she lived. The first thing that had to be done was choosing the type of fancy clothing that had to be worn in the beginning. This was difficult since none of the group members had fancy attire. However, the group members and I came to the conclusion to wear black clothing. This would range from black jeans, to a black dresses. The next scene was of the group getting ready in the mirror (for going out to a club). The makeup was more on the dramatic side. Final Day of Filming Blog

  On Thursday,  November  the 30th I finished filming with my partner. This time I just came to school in NIKE shorts, NIKE shoes, and a normal T-shirt because we were only filming my legs as I was running. The filming took place at the track field again. Also, my phone was used to film all the content for this commercial. I acted in all the scenes my partner filmed today. The first scene that was filled was a tracking shot of me running. This scene was really difficult  to film. Since my partner had to follow me with the camera as I was running, the shot was extra hard to shoot. I had to match my speed with hers so that I would stay in frame. This scene was one that was re-filmed the most. The last scene was also really difficult  to film. I don't think this one turned out as well as my partner and I thought it would. However, I think it wrapped up the commercial pretty well .
