Production Blog: Props & Makeup

As the filming nears closer, the next step needed to be taken. This step is to get the props that would be used in the film. These props include: fake blood, fake gun, special effects makeup, phone, car, and costumes. For the fake blood this would be needed for the scene were the dead bodies are discovered and when I get shot. First I asked my partner if she had any at her house because I did not have it. However, she then let me know that she didn't. This meant that this would need to be bought. The next prop that was really important in the story line of the film was a gun. At first I thought that I should buy a realistic looking one that would really make the film look like a real opening sequence. I realized that would not be the best idea due to misunderstandings. I wouldn't want anyone who watches the video or see the filming take place in public to think actual harm was caused. I thought that this idea would need to be changed. I suggested that I could draw a realistic art work of a fake gun. However, my friend offered that I could use her cardboard ray gun as the prop instead. My partner agreed that this was a good idea. The next props that was need was phones and a car. Both my partner and I already have a phone that could be utilized for the filming process. Also, my partner Aja has a car that can be used to film with. Finally, the last product that was needed was costumes, especially for the villain. For the entirety of the film the two main actors would probably be filming in casual clothing. It was to find an outfit for the villain. However, Elena, the actor that would play the villain, offered to use her old Halloween costume. This included a long black skirt, a cape, and a plague mask. This concluded all of the props that would be used.
